I started shooting in cemeteries early on. It is really odd how it started, and to long a story for here, but know that even from the first I established myself rules. Among those rules are you do not deface anything within a cemetery. I have never, as I have seen others do, alter the state of any statuary or memorials in an effort to get “The Shot.” I’ve had bands want me to shoot them in a cemetery with all sorts of prop imagery, and I turned them down cold. If I cannot get images from what is there, I move on.
Cemeteries contain the remains of peoples loved ones. They stand as memorials for those who passed on before. Every marker in a cemetery has the right to be remembered by somebody.
