Stacy Baugher, Photography

Welcome to my photography site. My name is Stacy Baugher and I am a photographer living in the Central Mississippi area.

As a child, I grew up with art. I was a prodigious artist even at a young age, and was enrolled in art classes from my elementary years through my college years. Unfortunatly, due to a series of poor choices, I eventually all but lost my skill with drawing and had given up on most of my artistic dreams.

The one thing I never fully gave up on was photography. I remember my mother taking family pictures constantly as a youth, and I believe that my initial curiosity  with photography is owed to seeing her run around with small Polaroid instant cameras and 110 models.  I remember getting hold of one of her old cameras that had a flash cube and being amazed at how it worked, and eventually reading in Encyclopædia Britannica about how the process worked.  Today, my mother is still big on photography, but as purely a way of recording family events and faces. There are volumes of such photos around her house.

Now, for the past twenty years, I have been doing photography in some form or another. As a teen, I had a small 110 Kodak camera that I would carry with me, usually as a way to record images for use in drawings and other art projects. In my early twenties, I began to focus solely on photography, and even did sittings for local models, entertainers and bands.  Then, while returning to college at night, I had another lull in photographic activity. Since I was in school, at night, for a Paralegal degree and also working full time during the day, my photographic endeavors suffered. Now, in administration for a local hospital, I finally have decided that I want to make photography (not administration) my future. Along with me in this endevour is my wife of 6 years and our 21 month old daughter.
